The Partnership Process

You like what you see so far... what's the process to become a USPh partner?

The U.S. Physical Therapy Philosophy

U.S. Physical Therapy engages in a variety of attraction activities to get the message out to qualified therapists about the incredible opportunity for partnership:

  • You might see us exhibiting at an industry event
  • You may have seen our ad in an industry journal or magazine
  • You could receive an email, brochure, postcard, or letter
  • You may have heard about us from a friend, current partner, or colleague
  • We're on Facebook and advertise on a variety of industry websites
  • OwnYourOwnClinic.com is the centerpiece of our attraction effort

Becoming a partner is a deliberate and thoughtful process. After all, this is a partnership, not a job. We're as anxious as you are to see if this is a great career solution and if you are our next successful partner, but we're not in a hurry. No one "pressures" you and we go down this path together for as long as both parties feel comfortable. Is it a fit for everyone? No. Is it a fit for you? Let's see!

Here's how it works

  • Through one of the attraction methods listed above, we identify outstanding clinicians with an interest in taking control of their future through ownership.
  • You begin by exploring the U.S. Physical Therapy value proposition and model with a business development specialist
  • We want this to be a good fit, so we're going to ask some questions about you, too.
  • If it seems like we're a fit for you and you for us, we'll want to meet you (and your family) face-to-face - preferably in Houston - so that we can show you our office and you can meet the many people who will work with you. We'll arrange for this trip at our expense.
  • After meeting in Houston, we'll want to spend some time in your market with you to further explore the opportunity. We'll go with you to meet with the referral sources you will count on for support in your practice to help you judge their advocacy. We'll also want to look at real estate options in your market and explore managed care access and pricing.
  • Together, we'll put together a business plan - one that outlines anticipated volume, revenue, expense, and profitability assumptions. From this undertaking, we'll both know whether the partnership is going to succeed - meeting expectations for compensation for you, and return on investment for us.
  • We will prepare documents for your review - an employment agreement and a partnership agreement. After review and discussion, and after seeking the advice of your legal and financial advisors and family, we execute the documents and our partnership begins!
  • In the meantime, we have been negotiating for a space for your clinic based on the findings from our visit and your recommendations. After the agreements are signed for your partnership, we will sign a lease for the clinic space.
  • Then the fun begins: you pick out color schemes, a floor plan, and equipment, name your clinic and develop a logo. Simultaneously, we're doing everything to get your new clinic open and running from permits and filings, to construction and training for you and your staff.
  • When everything is ready, we install the clinic and office equipment, furnishings, and supplies.and you open your clinic. Your dream comes true!
  • Our support doesn't stop there. We're with you all the way - see the page on the support we provide for our partners.

THIS PROCESS IS DESIGNED TO ENSURE YOUR SUCCESS. IT IS THE FOUNDATION FOR OUR PARTNERSHIP PHILOSOPHY AND REFLECTS THE OUTSTANDING COMMUNICATION WE HAVE WITH OUR PARTNERS.
